Assurance Directorate Join Oxford’s Assurance Directorate as a Deputy Data Protection Officer, supporting the University’s compliance with data protection and freedom of information legislation. Location: University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford with option for some remote/hybrid working. About the Role You will lead on managing personal data breaches and regulatory policy, helping shape university-wide data protection strategy. Acting as a Deputy Data Protection Officer, you’ll advise senior stakeholders, support DPIAs, develop guidance and training, lead improvement programmes, and oversee incident response. You’ll also manage and develop a team of specialists and contribute to wider Assurance Directorate initiatives. About You
  • Extensive knowledge of UK and EU data protection law.

  • Proven experience managing data breaches and advising on FOI/SARs.

  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

  • Ability to lead policy work and strategic planning in a complex organisation.

  • Experience managing teams and driving continuous improvement.

Desirable: Experience in HE, legal or regulatory environments, and relevant qualifications. Sponsorship and Right To Work This role meets the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa.
