Position Overview We are seeking for an Onboarding/Offboarding Specialist who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about employee experience and HR operations. In this role, you will oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees across multiple Chubby Group locations, ensuring all employment documentation, compliance requirements, and HR records are completed accurately and efficiently.
Employment Details Hiring Entity: Chubby Group Work Location: Hybrid/Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: Annual Salary: $36,000 – $57,600 (based on experience and qualifications), subject to applicable federal, state, and local tax withholding. Additional performance-based bonuses may apply. Benefit Eligibility: Yes Start Date: Upon onboarding completion, all required pre-employment notices and documents will be provided at or before the start date, as required by law.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for newly hired employees across multiple Chubby Group locations.
- Prepare, distribute, and track onboarding documents, including employment forms, policy acknowledgments, and required compliance paperwork.
- Verify completion of required hiring documents and certifications while maintaining accurate employee records.
- Coordinate new hire orientation schedules and communicate onboarding instructions to employees and managers.
- Set up employee profiles and maintain HR records within company systems.
- Process employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and employment updates as needed.
- Coordinate offboarding procedures, including resignation and termination documentation, system updates, final paperwork, and exit process coordination.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Monitor onboarding and offboarding workflows, identify process improvements, and maintain accurate tracking reports using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Provide professional support by answering employee questions regarding onboarding, documentation, and company procedures.
- Occasionally travel to restaurant locations to assist with new store openings, orientation sessions, or HR support when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding and offboarding processes simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to maintain confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote setting.
- High sense of responsibility, accountability, and ownership.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (OPT/H1B sponsorship available).
Preferred Skills Previous experience in Human Resources, onboarding, employee administration, recruiting, or office administration preferred. Experience using HRIS platforms such as Gusto or similar HR management systems is preferred. Familiarity with employment documentation, I-9 verification, employee records management, and HR compliance is a plus. Experience supporting multi-location or hospitality operations is preferred. Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin are a plus.
