Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science at CU Boulder welcomes applications for a Research Associate. As part of an H-1B application, this position must start on April 1, 2026 and end 12 months later.

Responsibilities

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Assist PI Yueqi Chen in the refactor and modernization of CAM/CAM-SIMA's code through separating computational and control code.
  • Rewrite control code into Python.

  • The starting salary for this position is $30,325.00 per year; this is a 25% FTE position working 10 hours per week.

What We Require

  • PhD in Earth Science.
  • Expertise in the application of Earth system modeling and data assimilation, as well as machine learning.

What You Will Need

  • Previous/current experience in working in NCAR.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Publication in Science, Nature Geoscience, PNAS.
  • NSF funding experience.
