Forecasting & Planning Analyst
Location: ONroute (Hybrid – Ontario)
Department: Finance & Operations
Reports to: Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
Position Overview
The Forecasting & Planning Analyst plays a critical role in shaping ONroute’s financial and operational performance. This position supports forecasting, inventory planning, analytics, and performance reporting across our network of plazas. You’ll collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, and Category Management to ensure ONroute remains well stocked, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Assist in developing financial plans and strategies to support company objectives including sales growth, transaction increases, gross profit, and average check.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to forecast monthly, quarterly, and full year performance.
- Conduct historical analyses to support budget planning and forecast estimates, including brand, item, and plaza level performance trends.
- Perform analytics to identify financial opportunities and support course correction initiatives.
Sales, Margin & Inventory Analytics
- Develop and maintain sales and margin reports, including item level, category level, and promotional forecasting by SKU.
- Plan inventory levels and take corrective action based on inventory KPIs, especially during peak travel periods.
- Analyze seasonal and limited time offer inventory builds using historical trends to ensure strong in stock performance.
- Review stock to sales ratios and respond quickly to changing trends through sales plans and markdown strategies.
- Support Operations and Category Managers by providing insights on days of supply, inventory shortages, and root cause analysis.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Participate in cross functional meetings with Operations, Finance, and Category Management to communicate forecast changes and demand expectations.
- Contribute to process improvements and enhancements to forecasting, reporting, and analytics workflows.
- Support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) activities and loss prevention improvement initiatives as required.
Reporting & Dashboard Management
- Develop, review, and maintain company dashboards to ensure financial and operational objectives are met.
- Surface analytical patterns and insights that act as indicators for future performance.
Other Duties
- Support additional analytical, financial, or operational initiatives as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Two or more years of experience in forecasting, analytics, or planning — ideally within the QSR, retail, or multi unit industry.
- Experience with S&OP processes is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Power BI.
- Experience working with planning, forecasting, or reporting systems.

- Ability to work through complex issues under tight timelines; strong critical thinker.
- Comfortable working cross functionally and presenting insights to non technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

Maximum Salary Range: $72,450

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to job duties, experience, and performance.
