Mechanical Engineer

A great career opportunity exists for a dynamic and proficient Mechanical Engineer to join an expanding engineering team based in Mackay. With a primary focus in design & engineering, this role will cover the complete design & fabrication process, from initial scoping with a client all the way through to delivery of the fabricated solution, along with any onsite training/testing.This leadership role within the engineering team comes with responsibility to develop junior staff & undertake complex multidisciplinary projects.You will be responsible for:· Undertaking design & engineering activities within the business· Support our products & engineering team in development of new products· 3D scanning including reverse engineering & using this information to develop engineering solutions to meet customer needs.· Support our products & engineering team in development of new products· Work to build the engineering capabilities of the business & develop junior staff. About YouSuccessful candidates will have experience/skills in the following -· Mechanical Engineering experience (5 years +)· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering· REPQ certified or on the way to REPQ certification (FMS Group can provide support to achieve this)· 3D CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks preferred)· Experience with FEA modelling (ANSYS preferred)· Excellent drafting capabilities is desirable· Experience with laser tracker & 3D scanning is desirable but not a prerequisite.· Experience within the heavy machinery industry would be desirable· Be an effective communicator (for an engineer) and have sound engagement skills· Prioritising and managing timeframes and deadlines· Have a high attention to detail· Be confident, flexible, team player and show initiativeThis is a great opportunity to join a company with continued growth and opportunities for further development.
