Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil / Hydraulics Engineer to join their team, working across water, sewer, and stormwater design projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of Australian standards, excellent problem-solving skills, and proven experience delivering high-quality engineering designs. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review designs for water supply, sewerage networks, stormwater drainage, and general civil infrastructure.
  • Ensure all designs comply with AS 3500, SEQ Standards, Logan City Council (LCC) Standards, Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) Standards, and Urban Utilities (UU) Standards.
  • Produce clear and accurate engineering drawings using AutoCAD, including LISPs and automation scripts to enhance productivity.
  • Apply and follow the company internal standards and procedures across all deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, councils, and internal teams to provide technical support and resolve design issues.
  • Prepare calculations, technical reports, and design documentation to a high professional standard.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior engineers when required.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in civil, hydraulic, or water infrastructure design.
  • At least 1 year of local Australian experience, with strong familiarity with local regulations, development processes, and council standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with stormwater drains, water reticulation, sewer systems, and drainage design workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, including custom LISPs, scripts, and workflow optimisation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Desirable Attributes
  • Experience liaising with councils and utilities, particularly within SEQ.
  • Strong understanding of design modelling and hydraulic analysis tools (advantageous).

RemunerationStarting at $70,000 negotiable and depending on your relevant work experience and skills.
