Job Description:
The Organisation We are working with a global quantitative and systematic investment firm that operates across all liquid asset classes. Technology and data sit at the core of how the business researches, builds, and runs its platforms. They are hiring an AWS Infrastructure Engineer to help design, support, and optimise cloud infrastructure used for critical research and production environments. The Role You will work closely with developers, quantitative researchers, and infrastructure teams to ensure AWS platforms are reliable, secure, and scalable. Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and implementing AWS architectures to support quantitative research and modelling workloads

  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex AWS infrastructure issues

  • Collaborating with engineers and researchers to translate requirements into secure and scalable cloud solutions

  • Building automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting tools

  • Monitoring, optimising, and improving performance and cost efficiency of cloud infrastructure

  • Evaluating and recommending technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and security

  • Supporting both Linux and Windows environments

  • Communicating clearly with internal users and providing follow-up and documentation

Required Experience
  • Strong troubleshooting capability with the ability to investigate issues with limited context

  • 8+ years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer or Architect with a strong AWS focus

  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services including EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration management tools such as Ansible

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash

  • Experience with containers and orchestration technologies including Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes

  • Experience monitoring and tuning cloud environments

  • Comfortable supporting both Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar)
