Tree Nursery Labourer

Start Date: As per season (Spring–Fall) Position OverviewAlberta Tree Farms is seeking reliable and hardworking Nursery Labourers to support daily nursery operations. This role involves planting, maintaining, and preparing trees and plants for sale and delivery. The position is physically demanding and suited for individuals comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Planting, watering, pruning, and general care of trees, shrubs, and plants
• Loading, unloading, and organizing plant material
• Assisting with tree digging, root ball preparation, and tree tying
• Preparing orders for clients, including tagging and staging
• Operating basic nursery equipment and tools
• Supporting irrigation setup and maintenance
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of nursery yard and work areas
• Assisting with deliveries and on-site planting when required

Equipment & Skills (Preferred)

• Skid steer operation (asset)
• Tractor operation (asset)
• Tree digging and handling experience
• Tree staking and tying techniques
• Experience working in nurseries, landscaping, or agriculture (asset)

Job Requirements

• Physically fit and able to lift 25–50 kg
• Ability to work long hours during peak season
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team
• Basic understanding of plant care is an asset
• Valid driver’s license (preferred but not mandatory)

Compensation

• Competitive hourly wage based on experience
• Overtime as per Alberta labour standards
