This position involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to deliver freight safely and on time to destinations across state or national lines. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and committed to providing excellent service while adhering to all DOT regulations. Key Responsibilities: Operate tractor-trailer combinations (typically 53’ dry van, reefer, or flatbed) over long distances. Safely transport goods to various locations across state lines and/or country borders. Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and cargo. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while complying with hours-of-service regulations. Secure cargo properly using appropriate equipment. Maintain accurate logs using ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems. Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and maintenance teams. Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations regarding transportation safety. Perform minor truck maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly. Qualifications: Valid CDL Class A license (required). Clean driving record with a long-haul experience preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours-of-Service rules. Ability to pass DOT physical, drug test, and background check. Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be comfortable being away from home for extended periods.
