Job Description:
About FSSA Investment Managers
FSSA Investment Managers (FSSA IM), a business within First Sentier Group, are specialists in Asia and Global Emerging Markets. With dedicated investment professionals in Hong Kong, Singapore and London, the team uses fundamental research and analysis to construct high-conviction, long-only equity portfolios. As bottom-up, active investors, FSSA IM seeks to identify high-quality companies to invest in for the long term.
The team has a long history of managing Asia and Global Emerging Markets equity strategies, having launched its first China and Global Emerging Markets capabilities in 1992. As responsible, long-term shareholders, ESG analysis is integrated into the team’s investment process and they engage extensively on environmental, labour and governance issues.
FSSA IM manages US$31 billion on behalf of clients globally across Asia, Global Emerging Markets, China and India equities.
About the role
Based in Hong Kong, the primary focus of this role is to maintain and improve the depth of the team’s Asia Pacific and Global Emerging Markets equity research. This is a rare opportunity to work closely with portfolio managers and traders to provide research support and insights that have a direct impact on investment decisions and client portfolios.
We are looking for talent with broad APAC investment analysis experience for a Hong Kong based position. Some relocation assistance and visa support will be offered as part of the package.
We believe that looking at things differently is more important than following the herd or tracking an arbitrary index. We are looking for people who have a passion for business and investing to provide a different perspective on companies.
Required Capabilities & Experience
  • University graduate with a track record in equity research.
  • A good understanding of the asset management business and fundamental financial analysis.
  • Can work well under pressure, and able to multi-task and prioritise while working to multiple deadlines.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English, fluency in a second language preferred.
  • Sound interpersonal and client servicing skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve/collate communication details and enhance cooperation amongst different parties.
  • A motivated team player who is driven and disciplined, with close attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications as well as Bloomberg and FactSet.
