The Aikmans Hospitality Group includes Aikmans Merivale, Brigittes Merivale, Brigittes Sumner, No4 Bar and Mr Brightside! We can provide the room to grow and develop within our company, we are looking for people who are wanting to expand their career and take themselves and Brigittes Sumner to a new level. Brigittes Sumner is a new breakfast spot, bustling along in summertime! Located in Sumner, right on the Esplanade, Brigittes is open Monday through to Thursday from 7am - 4pm, Friday 7am - late, Saturday & Sunday 8am - late (daytime only hours from April!) We are searching for a talented Sous Chef to join our team and help to create an amazing experience in our venue! We are a small but high-performing team, offering flexibility with hours while maintaining a strong work ethic. We work hard, support one another, and ensure the rewards match the effort. Key Responsibilities; • Standard opening and closing procedures • Quality Control and consistency of dishes produced at all stages of preparation and presentation • Demonstrating quality cooking techniques and procedures at all times • Preparing and cooking food as instructed by the Head Chef within the guidelines of the food safety plan • Preparation for the day ahead • Take on all Head Chef duties when they are not present • Assisting in induction, training and development of the kitchen staff • Enforcing hygiene regulations by keeping hands, surfaces and equipment clean at all times • Assisting in menu development keeping in line with seasonal offerings, trends and budgets • Liaising with FOH staff and management during service • Assisting in ordering of produce • Management of the Food Control Plan with Head Chef • Stock Management & Budgeting alongside the Head Chef • Monthly Stock take alongside the Head Chef • Management of budgets and KPI’s within market and fluctuations • Adhering to all legal requirements of the business We are looking for people with strong work ethics, hard workers, people who can work in a team and follow instructions.
