The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2025/2026 and will be implemented in August 2025 with arrears backdated to 1st April 2025 where applicable.

Job Overview

A new and exciting opportunity has presented itself in the form of the role of Data Analyst within Primary Care Services. The postholder will be expected to collect, analyse and report on data in relation to Primary Care to both internal and external stakeholders. The postholder will be part of a team consisting of a peer, Business Analysts and a Business Information Manager all working towards organisational objectives surrounding data management, and the improvement of ongoing processes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a team to achieve expected organisation objectives, but will also be expected to utilise autonomy in the day-to-day role. The candidate will be expected to work in a manner that aligns with the values of NWSSP, ‘Working Together’, ‘Innovation’, ‘Listening and Learning’ and ‘Taking Responsibility’.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent commensurate work experience
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and use of Query Tools and languages, i.e., SQL, Crystal Reports or similar
  • Evidence of continuous learning and development in related area
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Desirable criteria
  • IT Related qualifications
  • Knowledge of Primary care computer systems and associated reporting software
  • Knowledge of statistical applications SPSS.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS Data Dictionary and data standards

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information from large data sets
  • Preparation of training guides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience of Information Governance and good understanding of information management issue. Knowledge of legislation pertaining to information governance
  • Experience in audit design and the development of supporting computerised systems and processes

Desirable criteria
  • Track record of supporting critical IT software and equipment
  • Experience of change management
  • User satisfaction survey/questionnaire design and analysis
  • Experience of software development and/or testing
