Are you a motivated Physiotherapist passionate about supporting cancer patients? We have an exciting leadership opportunity for a full-time, permanent Band 7 Team Lead in our Cancer therapy team. The post holder will be the team lead of the haematology team working alongside the Haematology Team Lead OT. There will also be option to rotate into oncology team.
This role involves clinical leadership alongside another Band 7, supporting patients in across haematology and oncology inpatient services. We seek someone with a strong interest in cancer care, significant experience managing a complex cancer caseload, and a passion to provide compassionate care to our patient cohort.
You will assess and treat patients on the haematology wards, manage a complex caseload, and lead the therapy team. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to adapt under pressure.
You will also have opportunities for leadership development, attend conferences, collaborate with community partners, and receive ongoing training and mentorship. We welcome applications from those requiring visa sponsorship.
- Provide clinical expertise on the Haematology wards.
- Lead both clinical and operational aspects of the Cancer teams.
- Deliver specialised assessments and treatments within medical specialties.
- Oversee daily operations and contribute to the planning, evaluation, and development of the Cancer teams.
- Offer guidance and advice to healthcare professionals, social care staff, carers, and families.
- Collaborate with Clinical Leads and the Head of Therapies to implement department and trust objectives.
- Promote the roles of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Support Staff, and develop protocols and standards for patient care.
- Manage the induction, training, supervision, and appraisal of junior staff, students, and support staff.
- Build strong relationships with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), including Ward Managers, Matrons, General Managers, and Medical Teams, representing therapies in specialty meetings and projects.
- Participate in 7-day working to ensure continuous patient care.
- Lead the assessment and treatment of patients with complex needs in Cancer
- Support and develop therapy professionals, fostering professional growth and high standards of practice.
- Collaborate with the MDT to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
- Manage a diverse caseload, focusing on holistic, patient-centred care.
