As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Applied Data Science, you will contribute to teaching and industry-connected scholarship within the School of Mathematics and Statistics. You will deliver high-quality courses that prepare students for real-world data-driven careers and foster collaborations with industry, government, and community partners. This role is ideal for someone passionate about bridging academic excellence with practical, data-informed innovation. Mōu | Who You Are
You combine your expertise in Data Science with a commitment to teaching, industry engagement, and collegial leadership. You will have:
  • A PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in applied and industry-relevant data science, including collaboration with external partners.
  • A proven ability to teach, develop, and deliver innovative courses that connect theory with real-world application.
  • Expertise in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or equivalent).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an ability to translate data insights into practical solutions.
  • Experience in leading teams (expected at Senior Lecturer level).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to inclusive and collaborative practice.
