Health Care Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team In East Lothian . In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including care at homes . Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with their daily activities, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care while promoting their independence and well-being. Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Support individuals in following their care plans and achieving their health goals.
• Monitor and record patients' health status, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients in both home care and care home settings.

Skills

• Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Experience in home care or working within a care home environment is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
• A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting patients when necessary.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.
