About us: Mabunji Aboriginal Resource Indigenous Corporation (“Mabunji”) began its life as a resource centre in 1983, with its core purpose to support the Aboriginal people and homelands of the Borroloola region of Northern Territory.
About the roleWe are looking to hire an experienced Auto Mechanic to support our fleet operations in Borroloola and Homelands. This role involves hands-on mechanical work and a keen eye for detail to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:· Maintenance tasks including inspection, classification, diagnostics and repairs on Light, Medium and Heavy Vehicle· Complete service tasks on equipment during routine maintenance.· Replace or repair damaged and malfunctioning parts following inspections and effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on a wide range of vehicles· Tyre fitting and wheel alignment· Carry out routine servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid checks.· Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.· Testing and adjusting mechanical systems post-repair to ensure proper functionality· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.· Utilize the latest diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, and tools to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems.· Work remotely with travel as required
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:· Must be holding a Trade qualification as a Mechanic· Certificate III in Motor Mechanics· Diesel and small engine skills a plus· A minimum of 3 years of automative mechanic experience· A valid White Card (https://www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au/white-card)· A valid Driver’s license· Basic English communication skills· Basic computer literacy for daily job and time record submissions· Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.· Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills· Cross-cultural awareness
