The RoleThis is a good career move as we are looking for someone to grow with the business and build a strong team around themselves.We are looking for an experienced Accountant to lead our busy finance department (currently 3 people) on a permanent basis. The role is a full time position.You will work as part of the Management Team and report to the Director.Construction Experience is preferred.

The Basics..- Maintaining Purchase, Sales and Nominal ledger
- Bank Reconciliation
- Manage Invoicing
- Investigating and resolving invoice queries
- Producing reports and assisting in preparing the Management Accounts
- Cashflow Management
- Assisting in the annual review / audit of the business
- Set up new suppliers and clients, including credit checks
- HMRC Submissions
- Manage Supplier invoice posting, including staff expenses / credit cards
- Assisting with any ad hoc duties
- Weekly and monthly Payroll
- Manage Monthly Valuations (Construction Industry, Training & Support )
- Monthly VAT Returns
Requirements- Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with reasonable experience is preffred;
- Strong technical accounting skills, with a solid background in the preparation and review of statutory accounts; experience of complex revenue recognition accounting, business combinations and defined benefit pension schemes advantageous;
- An understanding of audit methodology, with experience of audit engagement management desirable;
- Proactive and enthusiastic, you will be comfortable working both independently on individual projects and as part of a team delivering collective objectives;
- You will have experience of working to challenging deadlines whilst maintaining a high attention to detail;
- A strong communicator, you will be able to build relationships both internally and with our external professional advisors;
- You will look to challenge the status quo in order to drive continuous improvement in processes;
You will have:– IT skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word
– Experience of accounting software and / or payroll functions
– Knowledge of Sage Accounting is important
