Tv.Viasat trading as Top 10 provides rope access, rigging, technical and project management services to the telecommunications, mining and construction industries. Based in Perth, Western Australia our teams can be deployed to a variety of locations in WA (or interstate) that range from mine sites in remote rural locations to skyscrapers in CBD. We are currently looking for Telecommunications Field Engineers to join our field-based teams for several projects around WA. Job responsibilities will include: • Planning and designing radio communication networks by determining the optimal placement of antennas and equipment to maximize coverage and minimize interference. • Reviewing project details and providing feedback on installation schedules to ensure timely completion. • Developing equipment layouts, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements such as weight distribution, maintenance access, and client standards. • Commissioning telecommunications networks and associated equipment, ensuring proper functionality and integration. • Monitoring telecommunications networks to identify and address the root causes of abnormal readings, ensuring optimal performance. • Installing external telecommunications equipment at sites for Optus, Vodafone, and Telstra, ensuring compliance with technical standards. • Installing optical fibre cables and DC cables (hybrid cables) to support network infrastructure. • Installing underground and above-ground equipment enclosures, ensuring proper protection and accessibility. • Installing antennas and radio equipment, including outdoor radio remote units, masthead amplifiers, combiners, and splitters, adhering to network specifications. • Conducting network maintenance and 5G upgrades in metro areas, performing comprehensive overhauls of existing infrastructure, replacing outdated equipment, connecting new systems, and aligning antenna azimuths and tilts per design specifications. • Identifying and troubleshooting complex technical issues, initiating corrective actions promptly to minimize service disruptions. • Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and performing necessary repairs to restore full functionality. • Integrating radio communication networks, determining optimal hardware placement for maximum efficiency. • Coordinating with technical teams to ensure all hardware, including antennas and cables, is securely installed and aligned with performance standards. • Maintaining detailed logs of all on-site equipment, tools, and inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with quality standards. • Communicating effectively with team members and on-site technicians, prioritizing tasks and resolving documentation discrepancies to ensure accurate execution. • Providing technical advice and guidance to supervisors and stakeholders regarding network operations and infrastructure requirements. • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure network designs comply with industry standards, client requirements, cost-efficiency considerations, and scalability for future upgrades. • Providing feedback to clients and advising on potential project scope modifications, ensuring alignment with operational needs and technical feasibility. • Coordinating with service providers, arranging crane operations, Elevated Work Platform (EWP) operations, and electrical work during active builds to ensure safe and efficient execution. About you • AQF Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma • The ideal applicant will already be able to legally live and work in Australia and have the relevant qualification and/or field experience in the Telecommunications Mobiles industry working with Ericsson and Nokia equipment. What we offer The role is for a full-time position with an annual salary between $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year. The salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
