Our practice is purpose-built for quality medicine and a calm client experience — high ceilings, natural light, up-to-date diagnostics, and a thoughtfully designed treatment space. We are growing and looking to welcome a second veterinarian to join our owner-led team. The RoleWe are hiring a licensed Veterinarian to deliver high-quality small-animal medicine in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The position is flexible — we are open to full-time or part-time candidates. Responsibilities:
  • Provide preventive care, diagnostics, and medical treatment for companion animals (dogs and cats).
  • Perform physical examinations, interpret lab and imaging results, and develop treatment plans.
  • Communicate diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options clearly with clients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Veterinarians (NLCV).
  • Collaborate with the Veterinarian-in-Charge and support staff to deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), BVSc, BVM, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Veterinarians (NLCV), or willing to complete the NEB / licensing process (we will support you — see below).
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply — mentorship is available.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Legally able to work in Canada OR eligible to obtain a Canadian work permit (see "International Applicants" below).

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly wage: $60–$90/hour (based on experience and credentials).
  • Continuing Education allowance: $4,000/year.
  • Professional licensing fees covered (NLCV annual dues, CVMA, liability insurance).
  • Health and dental insurance (group benefits plan).
  • Paid vacation and paid sick leave.
  • Free COVET subscription (clinical decision support and telemedicine backup).
  • No mandatory surgery requirement — surgical cases can be referred, or surgery mentorship provided if you wish to build/expand your surgical skills.
  • No after-hours on-call — emergencies are referred to the regional emergency service.
  • Supportive, owner-operated workplace with a small, friendly team.
