Quality Assurance Analyst
Location: New York
Pay range for this role: $90,000 - $110,000 plus annual bonus potential. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated quality assurance analyst who is passionate about delivering quality software projects. We desire candidates with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. The focus of this position will be the hands-on testing of new features for our options market making platform, built on the .NET runtime using C#. The system has enough variety to challenge and interest anyone: information-dense user interfaces, high-throughput, low latency computational services, interfaces to exchanges, market data sources, and execution systems.

Group One Trading, LP was founded in San Francisco in 1989, and we've become one of the largest privately held options trading firms in the United States, with a great team located in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. We continue to expand our presence on exchanges as the options trading space grows and evolves. Our traders provide competitive liquidity across a broad range of securities. We manage portfolios of thousands of securities and electronically stream two-sided quotes across multiple exchanges. Responsibilities
As a
Quality Assurance Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Quality assurance testing of proprietary software and proactive communication of test results with the Development & Product Management teams
- Participation in project design discussions with business owners and developers
- Level 2 Support - Researching/Analyzing/Troubleshooting/Escalating software issues reported from production use
- Coordinating/conducting training to users of our software
- Coordinating and executing software deployment

This position will have a high degree of autonomy as well as responsibility in the design, direction, and approach in these tasks. As a member of our QA team, you will be expected to take an active role in improving the process and methodology we use to ensure that we roll out quality, innovative financial applications that work right the first time.
Within 1 Month, You'll
Complete your initial orientation and become familiar with our environment, our infrastructure, and our business. You begin a comprehensive, cross-functional training plan to learn more about every aspect of our technology and our firm. You are paired with a mentor who introduces you to our software platform and guides you through your first project. Working alongside your teammates on the Quality Assurance team, you learn their different roles and skillsets to discern and utilize the best advice and information for yourself and others.
Within 3 Months, You'll
Understand and provide insight into our existing initiatives on the technology roadmap. You engage collaboratively. After building up experience, you contribute directly to existing projects.
Within 6 Months, You'll
You will study for and obtain a Series 57 Securities Trader Representative qualification, enabling you to use all of our applications in the production environment to provide support.
Within 12 Months, You'll
Demonstrate technical competence in our trading platform. You help shape the future of our technology and our business.
