Job Summary: Acumen is one of the nation's leading fiscal agents offering innovative financial management services. The BI Engineer / Data Modeling Focus is responsible for managing complex datasets and optimizing Power BI data models to support decision-making across the company.
Responsibilities: • Design, build, and optimize star schema models and Power BI datasets • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines from source systems (e.g., DCI) • Ensure data quality, refresh reliability, and performance • Collaborate with engineers and analysts to ensure semantic consistency • Support automation engineer with data sourcing and event-driven triggers • Other duties as assigned • ALL Acumen employees will be vigilant to support the positive compliant cybersecurity company posture by familiarizing themselves with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and act accordingly.
Qualifications:
Required: • 4+ years in data engineering, Power BI, or analytics engineering roles • 2+ years of experience with Power BI Premium or Microsoft Fabric • Hands-on experience using Fabric Data Pipelines, Custom Notebooks or Azure Functions, and Lakehouse or Warehouse components • Deep experience in SQL, Power BI dataflows, and data modeling best practices • Passion for data integrity and building usable systems • Knowledge of healthcare or self-direction data a plus • Experience working with Power BI Premium or large semantic models
Preferred: • Master’s in information systems, Data Engineering, or related field preferred • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures) or Snowflake as a data source
