experienced and motivated Specialist/Consultant Anaesthetists to join their dynamic team. We have
multiple vacancies available for specialists with
general anaesthesia expertise, as well as those with
subspecialty skills in cardiac and paediatric anaesthesia.
Overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand – assessed as substantially comparable or HOLD CCT/CCST and eligible via expedited pathway are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine provides a comprehensive range of general and specialist clinical anaesthesia services including trauma, paediatric surgery, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular and obstetrics specialities. Anaesthesia services are also provided for the Cardiac Catheter Lab, Endoscopy Unit and Medical Imaging Department including Interventional Radiology, CT/MRI and PET scan. We also provide an Acute Pain Service and Perioperative Medicine service.
The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine is a high-quality specialist teaching department with significant research activity. They participate in multi-centre research trials and encourage local research. They have strong links with University of Tasmania Faculty of Health Science and the Menzies Research centre.

Fellowship of ANZCA (FANZCA) or equivalent and
specialist registration with AHPRA Strong
clinical expertise in general anaesthesia, with
subspecialty experience in cardiac or paediatrics (desirable but not essential) Passion for
teaching, mentorship, and research Ability to thrive in a
