About the RoleYou will be a vital part of our small but dynamic team, managing both internal HR processes and our wide network of subcontractors. This role requires someone who enjoys working in a people-focused environment, is confident with systems and compliance, and can be both responsive and proactive in supporting our day-to-day and strategic operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate job vacancy announcements and manage end-to-end recruitment for employees and subcontractorsAssist with interviewing, candidate screening, and onboarding activitiesMaintain HR and contractor records and manage updates across personnel and subcontractor databasesProvide practical advice to managers on performance matters, staff development, and conflict resolutionGuide new staff through induction, ensuring they understand company policies, work conditions, and development opportunitiesManage employment documentation and support the consistent application of company policies and proceduresLiaise with project managers to ensure subcontractor arrangements align with employment standards and safety protocolsSupport the review and development of company policies, agreements, and dispute resolution processesMonitor compliance with employment laws, Fair Work requirements, and relevant awards or contractsParticipate in employee engagement activities and help drive a positive workplace culture
What You’ll BringMinimum of 4 years’ experience in a Human Resources or related roleTertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a relevant fieldStrong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR practices, including subcontractor oversightExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a practical and solutions-focused mindsetExperience in the construction or residential building sector (desirable)High level of accuracy in record-keeping and familiarity with HRIS tools
