Vehicle Painter

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing vehicles to meet high-quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment. The Vehicle Painter will play a vital part in restoring vehicles to their optimal appearance and ensuring customer satisfaction. Duties

• Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint adhesion
• Mix and match colours accurately to achieve desired finishes
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely for surface preparation and painting tasks
• Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns or brushes, ensuring an even finish
• Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and carry out touch-ups as necessary
• Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
• Assist with the movement of vehicles within the workshop, including heavy lifting when required
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during all stages of the painting process

Requirements

• Proven experience in vehicle painting or related automotive roles is preferred
• Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding vehicle structures and repair processes
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in surface preparation and painting
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or bulky components
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for colour matching and finishing quality
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to automotive painting environments
