A Class 1/A Licensed Truck Driver is needed to safely operate a tractor-trailer unit, transporting goods across long distances within the Maritime Provinces in Canada, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and maintaining accurate logs; requiring a valid Class 1/A commercial driver's license, a clean driving record, and proven experience in long-haul trucking operations.". (Position is open to foreign workers and employer is willing to assist with the LMIA process.)Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive tractor-trailer units to transport goods across designated routes.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking tires, lights, brakes, and cargo securement.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, recording hours of service, distances traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
- Adhere to all Canadian transportation regulations and weight restrictions.
- May require occasional loading and unloading of cargo depending on delivery requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 1/A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a long-haul truck driver
- Strong understanding of Canadian Highway Traffic Act and related regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a safe driving record
- Physical ability to perform required tasks, including lifting and securing cargo
