3 temporary, full-time Cooks from 4/1/2025 to 11/28/2025 in Panama City Beach. No education is required but must have at least two (2) months of prior prep or line cook experience. Must be able to understand and have knowledge of safety procedures, sanitation and food handling procedures; knowledge of fabrication of basic proteins required. Must be able to work effectively under pressure. On-the-job training is provided. Must complete employment application. Pre-employment criminal background check required, cost covered and billed directly to the employer.
Prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts in the restaurant on property, banquets and special functions at a high quality. Properly and efficiently prepare and present all food items to be served, including accommodating special guest requests. Rotate food in walks ins and freezers to minimize waste and spoilage. Maintain internal cleanliness of all food prep areas. Assist, as directed, in ordering necessary food supplies. Follow all specifications and properly set up hot and cold line stations. Communicate all guest requests to an appropriate person (or supervisor) in a timely and professional manner. Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions. Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times. Practice safe work habits at all times and to avoid injury to self and others. Comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including proper handling of all relevant equipment and machinery. Must be able to read and understand English, confirmed through verbal conversations, and follow simple verbal directions. Must have basic knowledge of production and operations in all relevant kitchen areas. Must be familiar with proper use and cleaning of relevant kitchen equipment and machinery. Basic knowledge of soups, stocks and sauces required. Must have proficient knowledge of sauteing, culling, boiling, poaching, broiling, steaming, and braising. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 25 lbs or more. Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
Minimum 35 hours per week up to possible 40 hours per week. Must be able to work a 5 day schedule. Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so workers must be available to work weekends and holidays, night shifts, day shifts, and/or rotate shifts. Multiple 8 hour shifts between 6:00am - 5:00pm. Sample shift 6:00am - 2:00pm. Hours and shifts may vary based on assigned schedules and occupancy.
Hourly rate is $15.65 per hour. In Florida, an overtime premium will be paid at time-and-a-half, which equates to $23.47 per hour after 40 hours per workweek when available and as required by Federal, State, or local law. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Pay received bi-weekly.
Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law. Employer intends to assist workers to secure local lodging accommodations during their stay. Daily transportation from local lodging to the worksite is not provided. Public transportation in the area including taxis, trolley, and bikes is available.
Employer will provide worker at no charge and no deposit charge all tools, supplies, equipment and uniform required to perform the duties assigned.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other visa-related fees including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (excluding passport or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker).
The employer will pay for inbound airfares and travel arrangements directly, and will reimburse to H-2B workers first check-in baggage and subsistence expenses with receipt no later than the time workers complete 50 percent of the period covered by the job order. Daily subsistence will be at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. The employer will provide outbound transportation and subsistence to workers who work until the end of the job order or who are dismissed for any reason before the end of the job order. If the worker has immediate plans to work for another H-2B employer, then the employer is not liable for outbound transportation and subsistence to workers immediately changing employment and moving to another authorized H-2B employer when the subsequent employer has agreed in its job order to provide transportation and subsistence to its worksite. Additionally, the employer is not required to provide outbound transportation or subsistence if the worker abandons the job before the end of the period of employment certified on the Application.
