General Accountant

About the RoleThis is a key role within our organisation, supporting financial operations, compliance, and reporting. You will work closely with senior management to ensure the financial health and sustainability of our NDIS services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
- Prepare BAS, PAYG, GST, and superannuation obligations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Produce monthly and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with NDIS pricing arrangements and financial reporting standards
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and government agencies
- Identify opportunities for financial improvements and risk mitigation
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with relevant NDIS regulations
What We’re Looking For- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting and taxation laws
- Experience using accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks
- CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) preferred
- Prior experience in the disability, NDIS, or healthcare sector is a plus
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
