Job Description:
A rapidly scaling UK based Private Equity firm is looking to add to its Middle Office team, with the addition of a new Financial Modelling based role. This is a new mandate to the market and looking to commence interviews in early January.
The new FP&A Executive will work closely with members of the Corporate and Fund Finance teams as well as the Tax Manager, FD and CFO on a range of reporting requirements, focused on designing, building and maintaining complex models but also seeking other opportunities to maximise the use of technology.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, build and maintain complex Excel models for a variety of purposes including but not limited to:
  • Reporting of key Fund metrics
  • Forecasting future Fund performance
  • Forecasting carry & co-invest cash flows including tax implications
  • Fund level cashflow and bridge projections
  • Forecasting corporate income, expenses and net assets under multiple scenarios
  • Forecasting partnership and corporate tax
  • Tax and regulatory reporting
  • Reporting on budget vs actuals and maintaining a live reforecast
  • Proactively update models to respond to requests from key stakeholders
  • Support on key strategic projects by providing accurate and meaningful reports and sensitivity analysis
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reporting to Partners
  • Lead on the general use of technology by the Finance Team, identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies.

Your background:
  • Formal accounting qualifications - ACA, CA or equivalent - or CFA Charter holder
  • Likely working in the financial modelling team of a Big 4 / Top 10 firm or independent advisory business; exposure to Private Equity Funds is preferred as opposed to someone who's worked in a broader or sector agnostic modelling role.
  • University graduate in an analytical/mathematically related subject
  • Advanced Excel skills (preferably including VBA/macros) with experience of building complex financial models from scratch
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with ability to self-review and avoid over-complication
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and proven track record at managing several workflows at once
  • A flexible and adaptable, hands-on attitude
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex matters with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge / experience of PowerBI and/or Alteryx would be beneficial

Salary on offer is in the region of £90-110,000 base (DOE) plus benefits and bonus. Hybrid working and Visa sponsorship is on offer IF you have relevant UK experience in the above.
