Join LHCC Group and support the effective financial management of our organisation by ensuring accurate financial administration and payroll processing.LHCC Group is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong numerical and administrative skills to contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of a growing organisation providing specialist mental health care services. Hours of Work37.5hrs per week (Full-time) PURPOSE:An Accounts Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting bookkeeping activities, and assisting with payroll processes. The role involves recording and reconciling financial transactions, calculating hours worked and wages, and ensuring that all payments, deductions, and contributions are processed correctly.This position requires strong numerical skills and attention to detail, with most training provided on the job. While there are no strict academic entry requirements, candidates typically hold GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly in mathematics, and may work towards relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain and verify the accuracy of financial records and daily transactions
  • Prepare trial balances and reconcile accounts to ensure consistency and completeness
  • Oversee payroll processes and support
  • the development of payroll systems and procedures
  • Calculate pay, including hours worked, wages, deductions, and authorised contributions
  • Administer statutory and contractual payments such as holiday, sickness, and maternity pay, as well as expenses
  • Prepare payroll schedules and ensure timely processing and distribution of salaries
  • Assist in cost calculations, overhead analysis, and preparation of financial reports for management
  • audits accounts and book-keeping records
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks required

PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Previous experience within a finance based role
  • Be a team player with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate (Spreadsheet, sage, accounting software etc...)
  • Experience within a housing organisation would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and prioritisation skills.
  • be available to start immediately
  • accounting experience in a similar position and be able to demonstrate good numerical skills

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Applicants currently working towards a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in an accounts, finance or payroll administration role is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software (e.g. Sage or equivalent).
  • Excellent numerical, organisational and communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
