The Impact You Will Have: As the AI & Data Engineering Architect, you will lead the technical vision and execution of a groundbreaking internal AI platform for Liberty Home Guard. This platform will serve as a centralized intelligence hub, custom-built to unify our claims, operations, and employee workflows into a private yet highly usable AI environment. Your work will enable our employees to access, interact with, and derive insights from company data through a seamless interface, drastically improving efficiency, knowledge-sharing, and automation. This is a critical initiative with direct impact on every department, potentially reducing claims processing time by 30%+ and enhancing decision-making across the organization. You will work with internal teams and cross-functional stakeholders to architect the data backbone and AI logic needed to power a next-generation tool for internal productivity. Your platform will help facilitate and improve the experience of millions of service requests and support hundreds of thousands of customers with AI driven updates. Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Architect and implement a secure, private AI infrastructure that serves all Liberty Home Guard employees with real-time, context-specific support across various workstreams.
• Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines to connect, clean, and centralize data from disparate sources including claims, customer service, HR, billing, and operational systems.
• Develop systems that can extract insights from structured and unstructured data and translate them into usable formats for machine learning, NLP, and AI chatbot applications.
• Develop custom models, algorithms, and integrations in Python with external LLMs (e.g., Grok, OpenAI) to support advanced search, automation, and recommendation functionalities tailored to Liberty Home Guard’s operations.
• Design and manage a scalable data warehouse that supports rapid querying, integration, and experimentation.Collaborate with internal teams to map out workflows and business logic that will inform AI behavior and use-case prioritization.
• Ensure strict adherence to data privacy and security best practices while enabling broad internal usability.
• Integrate AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to enable real-time querying of vast datasets, including call transcripts and metrics.
• Implement MLOps practices for model deployment, monitoring, and versioning to ensure reliable AI performance.
• Incorporate AI ethics and bias mitigation strategies in all models and data pipelines.
• Continuously optimize system performance and reliability, with a focus on long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI, large language models (LLMs), and data engineering tools to guide our technical roadmap.
• Work closely with QA, product, and leadership to test prototypes, gather feedback, and iterate rapidly.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, or AI infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in Python and deep understanding of data modeling, data integration, and API development.
• Experience with modern ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Prefect).
• Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), particularly for data storage and processing.Strong familiarity with NLP, LLMs, vector databases, and AI agent frameworks is a major plus.
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack for building custom AI agents and chatbots.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying scalable AI systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work on ambiguous, highly customized technical challenges without relying on off-the-shelf plug-and-play tools.
• Excellent collaboration skills; ability to synthesize business needs into engineering requirements and communicate progress effectively.Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter attitude, able to take ownership of a foundational project from the ground up.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects from ideation to production.
