Adobe Illustrator Artist – Surface Pattern Designer

Job Description:We are looking for an experienced and highly creative Adobe Illustrator Artist to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of professional experience in creating seamless vector patterns and a strong understanding of Shopify as a platform for applying and showcasing visual designs.This role requires a designer who is not only skilled in surface pattern creation but also has a commercial mindset and understands how designs translate onto products, especially within an e-commerce setting. Key Responsibilities:

• Design original, high-quality seamless repeat patterns using Adobe Illustrator
• Develop artwork suitable for application on products such as lifestyle accessories
• Ensure all artwork is technically accurate and optimized for production print ready and digital upload
• Collaborate with the creative and e-commerce teams to align visuals with brand identity and seasonal direction
• Assist with Shopify asset creation and understand how design elements are implemented across product pages, banners, and collections
• Stay informed on current design and pattern trends in fashion, lifestyle, and digital retail

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in vector illustration and surface pattern design
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Demonstrated experience creating seamless repeat patterns with commercial appeal
• Solid understanding of how to prepare and export files for print and web
• Working knowledge of Shopify - including how designs are presented across product variants, collections, and digital storefronts
• Strong sense of color, layout, and brand styling
• Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Photoshop or Procreate for initial sketching or finishing touches
• Basic understanding of Shopify theme customization and how visual assets integrate into the platform
• Knowledge of textile printing techniques or UV printing for product manufacturing
• Interest in fashion/lifestyle branding and e-commerce trends
