Job Summary: The Cloud Cybersecurity Project Manager III will manage a complex cloud-based cybersecurity project within HHSC. This role requires extensive experience in implementing and managing large-scale Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and vulnerability management applications. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, overseeing, and documenting all aspects of the project, as well as managing a small team and coordinating with Managed Services vendors to ensure successful delivery. The position demands strong leadership, critical thinking, and the ability to handle technical or resource-related challenges independently.
Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end implementation of a complex cloud cybersecurity and DLP project.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely, within-scope, and cost-effective delivery.
- Handle project budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables using enterprise project portfolio management software.
- Ensure compliance with the Department of Information Resources (DIR) Project Management Framework and DSHS IT and security standards.
- Supervise up to three staff augmentation resources (two Network Security Analysts and one Application/Software Developer or Cloud Security Analyst).
- Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and communicate progress with leadership.
- Manage limited resources effectively and perform hands-on IT tasks when necessary.
Minimum Requirements: - 10 years of advanced security project management experience with implementation of complex DLP systems, web information systems, and information systems controls.
- 8 years of experience effectively managing large-scale projects involving DLP and vulnerability management applications.
- 8 years of experience managing up to three staff augmentation contractors, including Network Security Analysts and Application/Software Developers or Cloud Security Analysts.
- 8 years of experience managing project budgets and timelines using enterprise portfolio project management tools and coordinating with Managed Services vendors to ensure project success.
- 8 years of strong knowledge and familiarity with the Department of Information Resources (DIR) Project Management Framework, ensuring compliance within Health and Human Services and DSHS Security and Information Technology Standards.
Preferred Experience: - 8 years of experience designing, building, and securing web information systems using SaaS-based vulnerability management and DLP applications.
- 5 years of experience managing limited-resource environments and independently performing complex IT tasks with creativity and flexibility.
- 3 years of experience working directly with HHSC Security or Network Engineers.
Certification Requirement: - Project Portfolio Management (PPM) certification is required.
