The RoleWe are seeking a qualified Veterinarian to join our Emergency & Critical Care team. This role is suited to veterinarians with a minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience who are confident in managing a varied caseload or are looking to transition into emergency practice with structured support.
Key Responsibilities- Triage and manage emergency and critical care patients
- Perform diagnostic work-ups including bloodwork, imaging, and clinical assessments
- Develop and implement treatment plans for medical and surgical cases
- Perform emergency surgical procedures where indicated (e.g. GDV, foreign body, wound repair)
- Provide inpatient care and ongoing case management through to discharge
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
- Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care
- Participate in case discussions, rounds, and clinical development activities
- Manage anaesthesia and pain control for critical and surgical patients
Skills & Experience Required- DVM or BVSc (or equivalent) eligible for registration in Victoria
- Victorian Veterinary Registration
- Radiation license and preferred CT license
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical veterinary experience
- Experience or strong interest in emergency and critical care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and record keeping
