Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Transport and Distribution Clerk / Assistant to support our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing shipping and receiving activities, maintaining accurate data entry, and assisting with supply chain processes.   • Manage transportation management systems to schedule, track, and optimise deliveries and pickups
  • Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods
  • Utilise systems such as AS400 and SyteLine for data entry, inventory updates, and order processing
  • Support supply chain functions, including liaising with third-party logistics providers (3PL)
  • Analyse logistics data to identify efficiencies or issues within distribution processes
  • Maintain organised records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory movements
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers via phone etiquette and professional correspondence
  • Assist with documentation related to freight movements, customs documentation, and compliance requirements

Skills
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems and supply chain software such as AS400 and SyteLine
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL coordination
  • Excellent analysis skills to interpret logistical data and optimise workflows
  • Effective communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear written correspondence
  • Accurate data entry skills with attention to detail in maintaining records
  • Good typing speed for efficient documentation and system updates
  • Organised approach to multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple priorities
