leadership role, and help shape both the technology and engineering culture. Role Overview:
As a Principal Verification Engineer, you will take ownership of the verification environment and methodology, ensuring robust, first-time-right silicon. You’ll lead a team, set best practices, and collaborate closely with design, architecture, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams.Responsibilities
- Define and implement verification methodologies and strategies for complex So Cs
- Develop and maintain UVM/System Verilog-based environments, including checkers, coverage models, and assertions
- Establish and track key verification metrics: regressions, coverage, bug tracking, and sign-off criteria
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to verification engineers
- Work with cross-functional teams (design, architecture, software, and physical implementation) to ensure quality
- Drive verification innovation and continuous improvement in tools, flows, and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of ASIC/SoC verification experience, with proven leadership in strategy and execution
- Deep expertise in System Verilog, UVM, assertions, and coverage-driven verification
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with experience of pre- and post-silicon verification
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL) for automation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers
- Background in secure computing, cryptography, or high-performance processors is highly desirable
Additional information
- Visa sponsorship can be provided, but you must already be living or relocating to the United kingdom.
- A hybrid working arrangement is preferred with 2-3 days per week in Bristol.
