Consultant Intensivist | CICM Accredited ICU | Regional Referral Centre | Western Australia
The Opportunity We are working closely with a CICM-accredited Intensive Care Unit within a major regional referral hospital in Western Australia and are keen to connect with FCICM-qualified Intensivists interested in a full-time role offering structured regional critical care with recognised training involvement.
The ICU manages a mixed medical–surgical case mix, supporting emergency, peri-operative and complex medical presentations across a large regional catchment. Consultants play an active role in supervision and training within a well-governed and collaborative service model.
This opportunity will appeal to Intensivists seeking professional autonomy, teaching engagement and long-term regional stability.
The Hospital & ICU
This is the principal referral hospital for the South West region of Western Australia, delivering comprehensive acute services to a growing population base.
The Intensive Care Unit includes:
- Mixed medical–surgical ICU
- High Dependency capability
- 24/7 ventilatory support
- Close integration with Emergency and Anaesthetics
- Regional trauma stabilisation
- Established retrieval and transfer pathways to Perth tertiary centres
Importantly, the ICU is CICM accredited for Limited General Training (Gen6) and Rural training, reflecting structured supervision, governance and educational capability.

Requirements - Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM) or equivalent
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by CICM as partially or substantially comparable
