Job descriptionQueensland Hydraulics is looking for an experienced hydraulic/Mechanical Fitter in a workshop (80%) onsite (20%) based role. In the workshop you will be responsible for the assembly of hydraulic cylinders (new cylinders), and repair work (disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, test of rams), and hydraulic power unit assembly (pipework and hydraulic component fitting of new systems) and at site you will be responsible for pipework installations. Site accommodation and food is provided.
Welding skills would be beneficial but not essential.
You will be supported by a team of engineers to assist with your knowledge and understanding of fluid power/hydraulics
This full-time role suits a person who is reliable, hard-working, has good attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
Qualifications
- Fitter trade with minimum 5 years experience
- Hydraulics experience would be an advantage (however we are willing to train the right person)
- Welding TIG & MIG
- Ability to understand production drawings and produce quality workmanship, on time and to stated tolerances
Tasks & responsibilities
- Disassembly, repair, reassembly and testing of hydraulic cylinders
- Building Hydraulic Power Units
- Welding duties
- Overseeing and being a role model to apprentices within the workshop on learning and practising correct and proven Fitting methods

Remuneration (Approximately 90k-120k, including superannuation, dependent on site work)
- Workshop rates between $40 -$48 per hour (depending on experience)
- Site rates $55-$60 per hour (depending on job and location)
