About the Role We are seeking experienced Anaesthetists to join our dynamic Cardiothoracic and ORL anaesthesia team. We have 2 full time Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia SMO roles to commence late 2025 (start date flexible). The Greenlane Department of Cardiothoracic and ORL Anaesthesia, based at Auckland City Hospital provides anaesthesia services to New Zealand's largest and one of Australasias busiest cardiothoracic surgical units. We provide anaesthesia services for patients undergoing:
  • Cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including mechanical support and heart and lung transplantation
  • Interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures including TAVI, TEER and lead extraction
  • Otorhinolaryngological procedures day stay cases to quaternary head and neck surgeries
  • Perioperative echocardiography (including transthoracic, transoesophageal, and 3D echocardiography)
