Roebuck Bay Hotel (The Roey) is a large-scale hospitality venue in Broome operating across accommodation, food and beverage, retail liquor, entertainment, and event services. The venue includes multiple bars and dining outlets and delivers high-volume food service in a fast-paced environment.The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Head Chef and Sous Chef, the role is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen. The position involves working across multiple kitchen sections and contributing to the overall performance and consistency of service.Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a range of menu items to a high standard
Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in line with regulations
Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management
Contribute to menu execution, including functions and high-volume service periods
Work across multiple kitchen sections including grill, fryer, pizza, and food preparation
Support the coordination of kitchen operations during service
Assist in supervising and training junior kitchen staff to ensure adherence to procedures and standardsSkills and Experience
Relevant qualification (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
