Job Description:
About XUM Enterprise LtdXUM Enterprise Ltd is a fast-moving, purpose-driven company operating across global B2B ecommerce and circular economy markets. From desktops and laptops to full enterprise IT infrastructure, we source, collect, refurbish, and distribute thousands of units each month through platforms like Amazon, eBay, and Back Market. Our mission is to extend the lifecycle of technology, reduce global e-waste, and operate at the highest standard of care, safety, and compliance. We combine ecommerce, logistics, and industrial-scale processing at our Manchester HQ with ISO-aligned systems and an international footprint across the UK, UAE, China, and Europe. This Is Not Just Another Finance RoleLet’s be upfront. This role is not for someone who wants to hide behind spreadsheets. We are hiring an Accountant who can take full ownership of our financial operations — from daily transactions to audit prep, from reconciliations to real-time analysis of multi-market performance. You’ll work across departments, with suppliers, and alongside leadership to ensure the business stays sharp, scalable, and financially transparent at every level. This is about precision, ownership, and impact. You’ll be the person who ensures XUM Enterprise stays in control as we continue to grow rapidly. We Believe in Rockstar HiringAt XUM, we don’t believe in bloated finance teams. We’d rather hire one exceptional Accountant who owns the numbers than three average ones who need micromanaging. If you get the numbers right the first time, stay ahead of deadlines, and know when a figure doesn't look right, you're the one we want. The RoleWe are recruiting for a highly capable Accountant to manage the end-to-end finance function. From supplier payments to VAT returns, from cash flow forecasts to margin analysis, you will be the financial backbone of the business. You’ll already have strong experience with Xero and will be confident in using it as the central system for processing, analysis, and reporting. You’ll also support the team by building dashboards in Google Sheets that give real-time visibility into margins, performance, and cash flow. There’s no hand-holding here. You will be expected to bring rigour, structure, and clarity to the finance function from day one. What You’ll Own
  • Full management of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and daily transactions
  • Timely and accurate VAT returns, payroll submissions, and HMRC/statutory filings
  • Real-time tracking and reporting of margins, costs, and performance by department
  • Creation and upkeep of financial dashboards using Google Sheets and Xero exports
  • Analysis of multi-currency trading activity across the UK, UAE, China, and Europe
  • Support for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Continuous improvement of internal finance processes to match audit and compliance standards

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong working knowledge of VAT, payroll, reconciliations, and financial compliance
  • Hands-on Xero experience, including report building and reconciliation workflows
  • High-level skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables and custom formulas
  • Experience handling international or multi-currency finance is a plus
  • Organised, detail-focused, and proactive — you don't wait to be told
  • A clear communicator who can explain finance to non-finance teams

Personal Traits That Matter
  • Ownership mindset – you take full responsibility for accuracy and deadlines
  • Calm under pressure – you know how to prioritise and keep control
  • Problem solver – you spot inconsistencies and fix them before they escalate
  • Transparent operator – you keep leadership informed with data that matters
  • Process builder – you improve systems instead of just using them
  • High standards – you do it right the first time and don’t cut corners

What We Offer
  • Full-time, permanent role in a growing international company
  • Hands-on responsibility from day one, with support from a sharp team
  • Exposure to global trade, multi-market finance, and compliance frameworks
  • Training in ISO-aligned systems, audit readiness, and internal controls
  • A performance-led culture where your work makes a visible impact
  • Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship available (if eligible)
