About the role We are seeking a qualified and experienced Bricklayer to join our full-time team in Melbourne. You’ll play a key role in delivering commercial construction projects, using your trade skills to ensure top-quality workmanship across all bricklaying and Blocklaying tasks. 1. Reading and interpreting building plans and specifications to carry out bricklaying tasks
2. Lay bricks, blocks
3. Perform structural repairs and restoration as required
4. Apply ohs requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
5. Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently
6. Build and dismantle low-level scaffolds within safety limits
7. Oversee project progress to ensure delivery within timelines and quality standards
8. Coordinate with site and union supervisors to ensure smooth project execution
9. Manage on-site compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
10. Identify and resolve site issues in real-time
11. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment

What we're looking for

1. Trade-qualified with minimum experience of 3 years bricklaying (5+ years preferred)
2. Proven ability to work independently
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret building plans
4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
5. AQF Certificate III including at least one years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant work experience
6. Strong understanding of building codes, construction standards, and plan interpretation
7. Reliable, punctual
8. Driver’s license
9. Commitment to safe work practices and workplace health and safety
10. Trade/machine tickets (e.g. working at heights, white card) are an advantage
