Software Engineer - C++ Systems / GPU virtualization
We're working with a fast growing GPU virtualization start-up and they are seeking a C++ Systems Engineer to join them on a permanent basis, 100% onsite in San Francisco.
About them:The company provides GPU virtualization software that boosts utilization for operators of GPU cloud infrastructure. Backed by a recent $4.5M Seed round, the team has grown revenue from zero to more than $500,000 in 6 months.As employee number five, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys performance focused engineering measured at the microsecond level and who wants to work at the core of a low level GPU platform.
You will contribute to the core virtualization stack, influence technical direction, and help support a rapidly expanding customer base.

You will contribute to the core virtualization stack, influence technical direction, and help support a rapidly expanding customer base.
What you will do?
- Optimize a high performance C++ virtualization library
- Research oversubscription, checkpointing, and distributed GPU cluster techniques
- Support new architectures through deep systems level understanding
- Debug complex production issues across the stack
- Investigate performance bottlenecks in machine learning workloads
What they look for
- Strong C++ systems engineering background
- Deep systems knowledge valued more than prior GPU experience
- Trading firm or hedge fund experience is a strong indicator
- Open to exceptional fresh graduates with top tier internships
- Degree from a leading CS program with a GPA of 3.7 or higher
- Math or coding competition experience is a positive signal

Things to note:
- Fully on site in San Francisco with typical weeks of 60 to 65 hours
- Some weekend work may be required
