Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Operations Supervisor to oversee and coordinate manufacturing activities within our plastics injection molding facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and expertise in plastics processing, including blow molding, extrusion, and fabrication. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, process optimization, and team management to ensure efficient production and adherence to safety standards. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and fostering continuous improvement across the operation.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily injection molding operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of machinery such as press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC equipment, and other fabrication tools.
- Coordinate materials handling, inventory management, and warehouse activities to support manufacturing workflows.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to verify product specifications.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes across the production line.
- Train and mentor team members on proper machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain documentation related to production metrics, equipment maintenance logs, and safety compliance records.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machinery, or other automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing proper use of hand tools, materials handling protocols, and fabrication procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and product quality.
Qualifications- Proven experience in plastics injection molding operations with a solid understanding of plastics blow molding, extrusion, and fabrication processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating or supervising CNC lathes, press brake machines, CNC equipment, or similar machinery.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), quality inspection techniques, and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues involving CNC or automation systems.
- Basic math skills for measurements and process calculations; familiarity with materials handling is preferred.
