Vacancy InformationOur client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to take a key technical role in the design of electrical systems for industrial and energy-related projects. The scope covers low, medium, and high-voltage installations and includes emergency power systems, lighting, motors and drives, earthing, lightning protection, and complex calculations including short-circuit analysis, load flow studies, and cable sizing.You will translate client requirements into practical and optimised technical designs across various project stages. That means writing reports, providing technical advice, performing calculations, creating diagrams and schematics, and preparing layouts and equipment lists. The work contributes directly to emission reduction, energy savings, and operational safety improvements in industrial sectors including waste processing and steel manufacturing.Depending on your preference, you will have the flexibility to work from client sites or from the company's modern, well-equipped office.
Key Responsibilities

• Designing electrical systems across low, medium, and high-voltage domains for industrial and energy projects.
• Performing complex electrical calculations including short-circuit analysis, load flow studies, cable sizing, emergency power, and lighting calculations.
• Translating client requirements into practical, optimised technical designs across all project phases.
• Preparing technical documentation including reports, diagrams, schematics, layouts, and equipment lists.
• Providing technical advice and engineering support to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborating with engineers from other technical disciplines in a multidisciplinary 3D project environment.
• Contributing to projects focused on emission reduction, energy efficiency, and operational safety in demanding industrial environments.

What You Need

• Bachelor degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience working within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Solid hands-on experience in low, medium, and high-voltage electrical system design.
• Proficiency in designing and calculating electrical systems covering cable sizing, short-circuit calculations, emergency power systems, and lighting design.
• Skilled in AutoCAD for electrical design and documentation. Knowledge of Intelec and Caneco is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver technically sound solutions under project conditions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Afrikaans proficiency is a strong advantage for this role. A willingness to learn Dutch and integrate into a Dutch working environment is expected and will be an important part of settling into the team successfully.
