The opportunityOne Basin CRC Limited is offering exciting opportunities to join our PhD research program and contribute to our vision of a sustainable, resilient and productive Murray-Darling Basin.View current PhD opportunities and submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) here: https://onebasin.com.au/ As a PhD researcher within One Basin CRC, you will have the opportunity to work on projects spanning water, agriculture, climate change and regional resilience. Your research will directly inform the development of tools, technologies and policy solutions to support communities in adapting to climate change and managing water resources more sustainably.While studying with one of our 7 partner universities, you would be based out of one of our regional research hubs in Griffith (NSW), Mildura (Victoria), Loxton (South Australia), and Goondawindi (Queensland).What we're looking for

  • Domestic or international candidates
  • Curious, motivated candidates from agriculture, environmental science, engineering, social sciences, or related fields
  • Interest in living and working in one of our regional research hubs and being part of a growing cohort of early career researchers.
  • A demonstrated passion for applied research that has real-world impact

How to applyIt is important that you review the information on the One Basin CRC website prior to submission of the EoI.Do not submit an application here until the EoI is completeShortlisted candidates will be able to formally apply for a scholarship provided that they meet entry requirements of the host university.Evaluation and selection of candidates for the PhD topic "Determining varietal water and nutrient requirements in almond trees in the Murray-Darling Basin to optimise plant functioning and subsequently mitigate stress responses such as leafing failure" will begin on 30 June 2025. EoIs can be submitted for other PhD topics until the positions are indicated on the One Basin CRC website as being filled.
