The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering parcels efficiently and safely across designated routes. A valid driver’s licence and experience in commercial driving are essential, along with strong communication skills to ensure excellent service delivery. Duties

• Safely operate delivery vehicles, including lorries or vans, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
• Collect parcels from the warehouse or distribution centre, ensuring accurate loading and secure placement of items.
• Navigate delivery routes efficiently, optimising for time and safety while maintaining punctuality.
• Deliver parcels to customers’ addresses, ensuring items are handled with care and delivered in pristine condition.
• Obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required, maintaining accurate records of all deliveries made.
• Assist with loading and unloading parcels, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the delivery vehicle, reporting any faults promptly.

Experience

• Prior experience as a delivery driver is preferred, especially within courier or logistics companies.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record is essential.
• Experience in commercial driving or operating large vehicles such as lorries or vans is highly desirable.
• Warehouse experience is beneficial, particularly in handling heavy lifting and managing inventory.
• Strong communication skills are necessary to interact professionally with customers and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during parcel handling tasks. This role requires organisational skills, reliability, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety standards at all times.
