🚀 Quant Analyst | Predictive Modelling & Systematic Trading📍 Sunshine Coast, Australia✈️ Relocation support and visa sponsorship available
We are partnering with a rapidly scaling quantitative trading firm that is expanding its predictive modelling team.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious Quant Analyst to work directly on the models that drive trading decisions across a range of fast-moving markets.
The business operates more like a high-performance start-up than a traditional corporate environment, offering a flat structure, direct access to decision-makers and significant ownership over your work.
The RoleYou will:• Develop, improve and maintain predictive models• Research new sources of alpha and identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy• Analyse large datasets to uncover predictive signals and actionable insights• Build and test quantitative methodologies that enhance pricing and decision-making• Collaborate closely with experienced traders and quantitative researchers• Expand model coverage into new products and adjacent markets• Contribute to the continued evolution of the firm’s research framework
What we’re looking for• 3–5 years’ experience in quantitative research, quantitative analysis or quantitative trading• A strong background in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science or a related quantitative discipline• Strong Python skills and experience working with large datasets• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and think independently• A highly competitive mindset with a genuine desire to find an edge• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a small team
The team is particularly interested in candidates from proprietary trading firms, quantitative hedge funds, market-making businesses and systematic trading environments.They are also open to individuals who demonstrate a strong competitive edge through investing, trading strategies, poker, chess, competitive sport or independent quantitative projects.
