Job Description:
North Suffolk Community Services (NSCS) is looking for a Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator to join our Team! The DEI Coordinator will work directly with and assist the Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee in accomplishing a variety of DEI-focused initiatives. The individual must be able to prioritize responsibilities and help improve our processes and practices as our DEI team continues to grow.
This position is Monday-Friday during daytime hours; Hybrid with some remote work. Some nights or weekends may be required to attend off-site functions. What you'll do:
  • Assist with all efforts to foster a workplace with a diverse workforce, equitable practices, and an inclusive culture where all employees experience a sense of belonging.
  • Support DEI-related employee engagement reporting, programming, projects, and initiatives.
  • Help to develop, implement, monitor, and measure DEI initiatives in alignment with the NSCS mission.
  • Support Human Resources team in recruitment activities to expand diversity of applicant pool for relevant job openings.
  • Assist with creation of DEI workshops, trainings, and presentations promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the agency for staff.
  • Support identifying and pursuing grant opportunities around DEI.
  • Support AVP of Community Engagement & Workforce Development building relationships with community groups, governmental agencies and other key stakeholders.

What You’ll Need:
  • Education:
    • Bachelors in related Human Services field
  • Experience:
    • Two (2) years’ relevant experience in human services.
    • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices (DEI certification preferred)
    • At least 2+ years of experience in a coordinator role (Specialist experience preferred)
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual skills desirable
