Begin date: 7/4/2025 Full Time: Yes Number of Workers Requested: 2 Job Duties: Job Description: Attend to livestock (500 - 1,500), mix feed and additives, routinely examine animals to detect diseases or injuries, and distribute cattle feed and water. Engage in cattle pen maintenance and cleaning. As needed, maintain and engage in the repair of vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The ten consecutive months will be July through May. Feed cattle daily with a tractor and a feed wagon, and move and store feed on the ranch with a tractor and baler. Assist with cattle vaccination and feeding. 2. Cattle Finishing Yard. Workers will use feedlot equipment such as tractors and loaders to haul manure and clean pens. They will also assist with stockpiling feed and silage. They must be able to operate a feed truck, pickup and trailer, wheel loaders, JD Tractor, and welding equipment. 3. Assist in handling cattle for shipping and receiving, and give vaccines for cattle processing. 4. Engage in cleaning and maintenance to maintain a clean, productive operation. 5. Additional tasks include: a. Record information on livestock as required. Tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; b. Attach/detach implements efficiently and safely. c. Use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, weigh containers, and record weights and identifying information. d. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures as necessary; set up, repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment e. Load feed and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; operate self-propelled machinery. f. Trap and destroy pests. g. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, dirt moving equipment, forklift, irrigation equipment, manure spreading equipment, semi trucks, skid steers, sprayers, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tractors. h. Must speak and understand English. 6. Assist with other daily feedlot maintenance as needed. Assist with hauling of corn to the ethanol production facility and hauling of wet distillers from the ethanol production facility to the feedlot (using farm trucks and feed trailers). Haul cattle to and from the sale barns with a pickup and trailer, and/or with a farm truck and cattle pot. 7. Attend to cattle on feedlot. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, milking, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals. May maintain records on animals; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist in birth deliveries; and administer medications or vaccinations as appropriate. May clean and maintain animal housing areas. Drive a tractor/payloader for manure removal if needed. The cattle are held at the feedlot for approximately 6 months, then brought to meatpacking plants. (The H-2A workers themselves will not participate in bringing the cattle to the meatpacking plants) 8. The work day may begin/end earlier or later on any given day and evening. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and every other weekend. Potential nights and weekends are required depending on the weather and business needs. 9. Duties will vary from time to time depending on the priorities of the feedlot and/or weather 10. Engage in other duties as assigned. The Employer will reimburse the Worker for inbound travel, sustenance, & other DOL-allowable expenses only upon the Worker's completion of 50% of the contract. 2. Workers must perform their assigned tasks carefully & in accordance with the provisions of the work contract. Sloppy work will not be tolerated. 3. Workers must report at the assigned time and place each workday as directed by the Employer or representatives of the Employer. 4. Workers may not take unauthorized breaks from work. Should the Worker need a break, they will immediately contact the Employer or the Employer's representative. 5. Workers may not leave an assigned work area without the permission of the Employer or the Employer's representative. 6. Workers may not enter the Employer's premises without prior authorization. 7. Workers may not begin work before the scheduled starting time or continue working after the stopping time unless authorized to do so by the Employer/Employer's representative.
