Swine Herdsperson

Job description: Swine Herdsperson- Stam Farms Location: 4688 HWY 9, Kincardine, Ontario Stam Farms is a 1100 sow, farrow to finish, hog operation located near Kincardine. We currently have an opening for swine herdspersons. The job requires 40-60 hours per week and 19.00 per hour, depending on experience. We have a valid LMIA and welcome overseas applicants. EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent full-time, alternating weekend work required. SALARY/BENEFITS: wage dependent on experience level, please inquire Pay: CA$19.00 per hour Duties include: -Maintain livestock performance records -Keep records of all feeding done on a daily basis -Feed and tend to hogs -Detect disease and treat certain herd health problems -Set and monitor temperature and conditions in barns -Clean and maintain barns and livestock -Supervise general farm workers, as needed -Follow safety and bio security procedures -Castrate, wean, vaccinate sows, hogs and litters Requirements: -excellent problem solving skills -must be able to work alternating weekends -strong communication skills -must we able to work well with others, as well as alone -take initiative, attention to detail Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Experience: livestock: 1 year (preferred)
